Tours

The Youth Choir of Central Oregon regularly tours to in-state, national, and international locations. Throughout its 30-year history, choirs have travelled to unforgettable locations including Ireland, Italy, Greece, Scotland, Austria, Japan, France and Spain. Our singers have performed in world-class venues such as Canterbury Cathedral (England) and Carnegie Hall (NYC).

While preparing for travel and on tour, choir members learn the importance of teamwork, commitment, and resourcefulness. In-state tours include performances and opportunities to attend Broadway musical productions. International tours include participation in top-rated music festivals and cultural exchanges with other young people.

Tour costs are in addition to tuition, and fundraising opportunities are provided throughout the year. Participation is optional and is a supplement to our regular concert season.

Auditions for the Debut and Premiere choirs take place in May and throughout the year by appointment. Prospective singers for both the Premiere and Debut choirs are asked to perform the first verse of “America the Beautiful” from memory. The auditioner then leads the singer through a series of exercises to assess pitch recognition and listening skills. For more information please contact our choir office.
